A program overseen by a nurse practitioner or physician assistant who earned a certificate of advanced training in Bariatric Medicine from the ABBM, offers a comprehensive and effective approach to maximizing overall health.

The exam and resulting medical protocol includes diet, exercise, behavior modification, and when appropriate, medication.
The advanced training certification process involves two steps:
